Pathways to Trade

Course Description:
The Pathways to Trade course is designed for Year 10 students considering future studies in construction-related trades. This course introduces students to a variety of construction trades, highlighting the numerous career paths and tertiary education options available in the industry.
Through this course, students will:
- Explore a Range of Trades: Gain insight into the diverse trades in the construction sector.
- White Card: Mandatory safety training course for anyone who wants to work on a construction site in Australia provided as part of the course.
- Develop Work-Ready Skills: Build foundational knowledge and practical skills in a simulated trade environment.
- Evidence: If students are wishing to undertake Certificate II or III courses when in year 11 in Construction, Plumbing or Carpentry.
DELIVERY LOCATION: Springbank Secondary College.
DATES AND TIMES: 1 day per week for 20 weeks, day and commencement date to be confirmed week 6 term 2.
FEES: $300
NUMBER OF STUDENTS: Minimum 12 - Maximum 15
SELECTION PROCESS: Students will need to complete and return the Pathways to Trade electronic expression of interest form and the commitment to pay form early term 2 to gauge genuine interest in pursuing a career in trades.
